Jamie M. Avendt, MA, LMHC, LPC, IADC

Jamie is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and International Alcohol and Drug Counselor.   She is also licensed in OK and MO as a Licensed Professional Counselor.  She received a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology at Grand View University in 2009 and a Master’s degree in Professional Counseling through Liberty Christian University in 2014.   She is certified in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TFCBT and TFCBT/CSE) and is a TBRI (Trust Based Relational Intervention) Practitioner.   She is also a SYMBIS (Saving Your Marriage Before It Starts) certified premarital program facilitator.  Her focus throughout her professional training has been on trauma recovery, alleviating symptoms of anxiety and depression, navigating grief, loss, and/or divorce, setting and maintaining healthy boundaries in relationships, understanding and mitigating the impact of substance use, developing healthy family systems, as well as exploring and developing healthy attachment in relationships, education regarding child development, and providing parent coaching. 

Jamie has worked in a number of different therapeutic environments, to include outpatient mental health, substance use treatment services, community based mental health, as well as residential treatment.  She has provided individual, family, and group therapy, as well as clinical oversight over community-based and outpatient programs.  Jamie has led and participated in various spiritual focused women’s and support groups as well as led a variety of teen groups focused on emotional health over the years and has direct experience in working with families that have experienced a recent loss of a loved one.  She has worked with children, individuals, and families on a variety of issues including navigating interpersonal relationships, conflict resolution, attachment/bonding, abuse and trauma healing, divorce, as well as guidance for those in the process of recovery from substance use and/or those affected by it. 

Jamie is passionate about working with others in order that they may build and improve connection through meaningful relationships, feel an increased state of hope and calm, as well as achieve a sense of ‘felt safety’, acceptance, and self-worth.   She believes in a balanced whole-body self-care approach addressing all aspects of wellbeing; social, emotional, physical, and spiritual self-care.

Scheduling

I offer therapy for individuals (age 7+), couples, families and groups. Scheduling is done directly with me and is individualized to each client’s need and the goals they are working on. Therapy may be provided in person or via telehealth.

Fees

Please contact me regarding Private Pay Rates. In accordance with the No Surprises Act, private pay clients have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate of what services may cost. Please ask if you have questions about your services or bill.

All payments (copays, co-insurance, etc. are expected at the time of service). Payment methods accepted include [credit/debit cards, HSA/FSA cards, checks, and cash].
